The women of the Organizacion Femenina Popular, or the Popular Women’s Organization, have been at the forefront of defending and promoting women’s rights from the Middle Magdalena Region of Colombia. For over forty years, despite threats and attempts on their lives, they have been at the frontlines demanding an end to the armed conflict and showing alternative ways of being. Pictured: Gloria Amparo, a leader of the organization, makes her voice heard at the protest.
